Excellent graphics & a decent size open world.. Good little open world to explore. Also nice atmosphere with the town having just that little SIlent Hill feeling to it...But that is where it ENDS. Instead of giving the player real weapons, you only get crap weapons and for some reason you have to drop them when entering a building??? What about giving us the good old pistol or shotgun?But it doesn't end there, the enemies are annoying as hell so you are supposed to be running from them, it would be okay if the enemies didn't teleport all over the place and the combat wasn't broken + you run so slow it's no use to even try to outrun any enemies.This games fails on too many aspects, they could have made a nice and entertaining game out of this. But instead for some reason there are some weird game design decisions that completely ruin the game(for me at least).Cannot recommend, maybe on sale, but be prepared to play an unpolished game.. I'm giving this game a neg review because there are elements of the game which don't really live up to what you expect from a game, but I am still impressed that this game was pretty much put together by one guy! Pro's * There are actually some genuinely creepy parts of the game. * The storyline isn't terrible, but doesn't seem to actually have a payoff. * There are some buildings in the map that you stumble across which offer some pretty cool moment. Cons * Enemy design is limited but not terrible. * Combat is pretty terrible. * The map is massive considering how little there is to do outside the key areas.* The boss battle and "ending" are terrible. * The last 30(ish) minutes of gameplay feel forced.All in all it's not a terrible game and does manage to capture some silent hill esque moments. If you're a horror fan and can get it heavily discounted then it may be worth a look if you've already played every other decent horror to death, but because of it's flaws, this game probably wouldn't appeal to other gamers. 4/10. the settings need to be updated big time, cant change sensitivity or adjust audio.. I actually got into it and was playing.. got to the church and then it just trapped me in a cell.. I even looked up walkthroughs to see if i was missing something but I was legitimately just stuck in a cell.. totally killed my vibe I'm not playing this trash again. I will do a small review. This game is fun sort of. The atmosphere is great, sort of like Silent Hill. A dark deserted town, filled with creatures and houses to enter, each (so far, still playing) with a fun little scary extra. However, the game is unbelievably irritating for the most part. The town is so dark that it is very hard to see, the map on hard doesn't at all indicate in this giant town where safe points are, the torch goes out in like 10 seconds and you need to be careful using it as the game said it can break (in this game you will need it), trying to go back and forward when you are constantly fighting creatures which was scary and creepy the first few times, then becomes incredibly annoying, especially the witch. Trying to run is impossible, you HAVE to kill her and be careful as 3 hits on hard and you're dead. When you try to run, she transports directly in front of you, if your weapon broke from the last fight, trying to find one in this very dark town, while being chased by a woman that pushes you 5 feet away after constantly transporting in front of you is not easy. At one stage i tried to run to the safe point to save my work steps in front of me, but when I ran to it, she was in front of me, so i ran to the left and she went there, i then went back to get to that safe box, and i did this for at least 40 seconds as she kept pushing me, which made me need to run away to regenerate health, She would not at all let me go anywhere, eventually i was killed. I had no where to go and couldn't get away as she just jumps in front of you, you will always, always need a weapon, if you haven't one and you're outside, get one ... fast! puzzles aren't really puzzles, even on hard, it's basically right there in front of you, it would be a fun game with its dark horror kind of feel, and haunted town, with enjoyable sound effects (the music however on repeat can be annoying too) but the travelling, and monsters appearing every 20 seconds, then weapons breaking after fights (block doesn't work it seems, even when I did it just before a hit landed). I would get it on sale because it is an enjoyable horror, just annoying and hard to enjoy when you aren't inside a building.. Badly optimized game and not open world enough.. Good horror themed exploration game. Basic / Mid lvl puzzles. If you enjoy exploring and finding snippets of lore and collectibles this is for you.. First let me say, at first I felt this was just another run-of-the-mill horror survival game, many of which I'd played before. Though, after playing for a while, it felt enthralling investigating this desolate town. Plenty of jump scares, running for your life and hiding in phone boxes etc. which makes it a great horror game. And, the best thing is that it actually got made, rather than the many horror games that seem to have been abandoned by their developer, so I applaud Nathan Seedhouse for that.There are a few things which I don't like about this game, mainly that it leaves you wondering right from the start, 'why am I here?' and 'wait...what am I supposed to do?' but I guess a lot of games are meant to keep you guessing. You do keep losing weapons when you die though, and they never seem to re-spawn which is a pain, and the bombs littered around the town can catch you off guard (though in the latest patch the amount of bombs has been reduced) but otherwise it's worth a shot - there are some really scary weird scenes in this game - many of which leave you thinking, 'What the hell did I just see?'. Untapped Potential. Also whats the deal with the random bombs that are around the place?
