Yeah, it's basically just another cosmetic pack with some story missions that are completely divorced from the main campaign. But it's a shining example of developer engagement with the community. A lot of us - myself included - put an embarrassing amount of time into XCOM: Enemy Unknown, to the point where we have a special connection to these maps, this or that armor or weapon design, and that glorious soundtrack by Michael McCann. Especially that last one - nothing against XCOM 2's more bombastic tracks, but the first remake's score is just brilliant, and brings me back to the first few grounded UFO missions in 2012 with my clean cut troops. Hearing it now while all my soldiers have tribal tattoos and technicolor mohawks is awesome. The entire XCOM team at Firaxis has my thanks for giving us this silly little gift of old armors and weapons, stuff that's technically pointless but exactly what I want. And the fact that I've gone this far without mentioning the amazing re-imagining of the soundtrack to Gollop's original UFO: Enemy Unknown is just a testament to the quality of this DLC.
